Digital Painting 101: Part II
Tutorial Tuesday
... because there is always more!
[ If you missed Part I, you can read it here. ]
Better get something to drink, and perhaps a snack, because this one is a touch longer and also a slightly heavier read than the first part. Alas, it's still 65 pages shorter than the 'Beginner's Guide' mentioned in Part I, so I guess my claim of this being a TL;DR version still holds up.
That said, clean your screens and let's get into it!
What's this about then?
This is not so much a step-by-step ‘how to paint’ tutorial, as it is a tutorial about the various steps each painting tends to take, from the choice of canvas size to

Digital Painting
Two words that are like Marmite. You either love it, or you hate it.
While for some, the words are like magic to their ears, others think it’s the most vile thing since Acrylics made their first appearance on the fine art scene. What are gradient maps and how do they work?
A gradient map is a type of an adjustment layer in Photoshop, which (unlike a traditional gradient fill, which fills an area using a linear or radiant blend of colors) uses the lightness/darkness values in the image as a map for how the colours are applied. This means that you can manipulate each value separately, assigning a different colour to your midtones, shadows, highlights and everything in between. It all
Despite this Orisha not being one of the most prominent in her pantheon she certainly has a lot to offer the Earth.
For those that don't know, an Orisha is the term used for the gods of the Yoruba pantheon, like how the Greek gods are called Olympians and some of the Norse gods are Aesir. The Yoruba gods originate from West Africa, most notably Nigeria and Benin, but are well known to have spread throughout the world due to the slave trade. As happened with any people who moved in whatever way around the world, they took their culture and customs with them. Today, many Orishas can be found in the Caribbean with only small alterations, if any
